Orazio Raimondo of the Socialist Party was elected mayor of the city of Sanremo in 1906. Born in Sanremo he was a lawyer by profession and as a politician contributed to the growth of his city. During his mandate the first Milan-Sanremo was organized and the pediatric department was inaugurated in the hospital. Later Raimondo became a member of parliament of the Kingdom of Italy.
Near the road dedicated to him, corso Orazio Raimondo, is one of the buildings which are symbolic of Sanremo: the Bagni Morgana (Morgana Bathing establishment), a historic summer establishment. The building has been modified over the years remaining in keeping with the times and linking itself to one of the most famous nights in Sanremo.
